A Table in the Marais
Twelve guests, one long table and a menu built around a single region’s autumn.
The private dinner is the oldest form the club knows, and the simplest: a good room, a considered menu and people who would not otherwise have met. The table is set for twelve, because twelve is the largest number that can still hold one conversation.
There is no speaker and no programme. The host opens the evening with a few words on why the table has been assembled as it has, and then leaves it alone.
The evening
- A seat at a table assembled with care
- A menu built around one region and one season
- An evening without a stage, a sponsor or a speech
